Braving the Storm (Open RP)

Kylara clutched her cloak tightly as the wind attempted to rip it from her shoulders. Her hood blew back, and her long black hair whipped through the air, turning silver with the snow. Stumbling on a snow covered rock, Kylara fell, crying out. She curled into a ball, attempting to minimize the amount of her that would get cold and wet. As she hit the ground, a package fell from her numb fingers, landing in the soft snow. It was about as big as her hand, and wrapped in brown paper and string. Fumbling, she picked it up and tucked it back under her cloak as she stood.

I can't keep this up much longer, she thought, tucking her head down and determinedly continuing to move toward her destination, a walled town in the distance. There was no shelter where she was; the closest was that town. If only she hadn't been so stupid and pigheaded, to leave without her master's permission or knowledge. How furious he would be if the package she carried were lost or stolen or damaged...but she wouldn't think of it. She couldn't. It could not be damaged or lost. She wouldn't let it.

Anyone can join! And yes, magic, talking creatures, etc. are just fine I do ask that you be as literate as possible and that all RP rules and etiquette are followed. Um...that's it, I think. Oh, and no more than three characters per person.

Suddenly, a shape is visable in the distance. As it approaches, it is revealed to be a hooded figure. When it reaches Kylara, a soft voice says, "Come with me, for if you stay out here past midnight, terrible things will happen." Then, sensing Kylara's confusion, the voice adds, "Didn't you know? This place is cursed."

Kylara turns to the stranger. "Who are you? What do you mean, cursed?" A sudden gust of wind whips her hair into her face, further obscuring her vision of the hooded stranger.

((Sorry, I'm sorta new to RPing, It won't happen again. *is determined*))

"The story begins a long time ago..." The voice begins, but then the hood turns toward the direction of the wind, as if it's listening to something. "It's not safe here. Come, and I'll tell you the story." The figure starts to make it's way toward a cave that's near invisible in the deep snow.

Kylara follows the stranger into the cave, keeping her package hidden under her cloak. Wary, she watches the figure through the blinding snow, trying to discern who it is.

Upon entering the cave, the figure turns toward the wall on the left. A gloved hand reaches out of the cloak and taps the wall three times. A shimmer flows over the wall, like the billowing of a curtain, and then the seemingly solid rock slowly becomes transparent, until there is no wall at all.

The space where the cave wall once was is revealed to be a splendid room, filled with all kinds of expensive-looking things. The walls are a warm yellow, and there is a bed in the corner, covered with shimmering fabrics in an array of pinks and reds, the bed also has a slightly-transparent, golden canopy. In the opposite back corner of the room, there is a doorway concealed by a red curtain. There are many brightly colored pillows and cushions on the floor, all covered in shimmering sequins or rhinestones. In the center of the room there is a low table, it has a starry tablecloth and a mysterious glass crystal sitting in the middle of it.

"Would you like some tea?" asks the figure. It starts to move towards the doorway, but steps on the edge of it's cloak and nearly falls over. "Oh! I forgot I was still dressed like this! You must be wondering..." Again the gloved hand reaches out of the coat, pulling it off gracefully to reveal a pretty girl, about Kylara's age. The girl has short, dark brown hair, and bright, emerald green eyes, she's slightly taller than average height, and a little tan. She's wearing a loose, short, pink and white dress with a belt. The belt is made of leather and has two small pouches attached to it, one on either of her hips. On her feet are tall, white socks, and a pair of tattered brown boots that make her outfit seem sort of warrior-like. The outfit looks like it'd be easy to maneuver in; like the girl had to be battle ready.

"I'm sorry I didn't introduce myself earlier, I'm Sayuki! Welcome to my home!"
