The House on Mason Street

If you walk past the Pet Shop, be aware that there aren't too many safe places to go. Be aware that you should go back where you came from, and don't follow the curve of the street, to where it meets Mason Street. Be aware that when you take that step, that first tiny step onto Mason Street, that your life will change... permanently.

Sometimes it's a good change... but if you go to the house at the end of Mason Street, I assure you, it will be bad.

Takes place between the Pet Shop, the House, and Mason Street.

Thread's ears twitch, shaking slightly, as she contemplates the street, then she strides with confidence to the house and scratches at the door. It creaked open, and Thread jumped back, shaking again, after a time she cautiously entered the house and the door slammed behind her.

((I don't know if it's supposed to be creepy or anything, so I just took a shot in the dark to get it started.))

((BTW; I don't have her character journal up yet because I don't know where her picture is.))

Jolting awake, Spero looked around her dark room. "Peri?" Her voice trembled slightly. She'd had that dream again. The dream about the house... "Wha-?" Cranky, Peri rolled over and glared at Spero. Her eyes softened when she saw the fear in her friends eyes. "Was it the dream again?" Spero nodded, terrified. Huffing slightly, Peri stood. "Let's just go there."
"NO!" Spero cowered and tried to hide. "We. Are. Going. I'm tired of these nightmares. Come on!" Dragged from her safe place, Spero had no choice but to follow.

"There it is..." Peri's voice was hushed, only now did she start to show her fear. "Come on. Let's go." Spero, eyes wide and knee's shaking, could only nod. A flicker on the porch caught her attention. "Someone's in there!" The two neared the house and stopped just outside, murmuring.

Thread jumped, there were people outside, talking in hushed voices. She ran without looking where she was going, and ran into the door, where she cowered, sorry that she had even come inside.

Trembling, Spero inched her way inside, Peri close at her heels. "Hello?" Her voice was soft, nervous. "Is anyone here?"

"Who...h...h...h....who are you?" Thread said, stuttering and trying to stay calm.

[Song]

Spero smiled, slightly relieved. She moved toward the voice. "I'm Spero, and this is Per--" Suddenly, Peri gave a shot and vanished. "Peri!" Spero spun around, terrified. "Peri!"

Thread went wide eyed an looked around frantically. There was laughing coming from the spot where Peri disapeared "Ribbon, you scared the bejesus out of me!" Ribbon came out of the shadows, laughing really hard.

Spero located the two. Growling, she approached. "Ribbon! Thread! Where is Peri?!" Her eyes glowed slightly, and she dug her claws into the wood floor.

A growling comes from deep within the house, and thuds sound along the wooden creaking floor, coming towards them. "Get out, now." came a gruff growling voice from deep into the next room. Thread jumped and Ribbon stopped laughing, and they both just stared into the other room.

Spero shrieked and ducked behind Ribbon. "We have to find Peri!" Green eyes wide, she searched the darkness. Each time a board creaked, or the house moaned, she whimpered and shivered and sank lower behind Ribbon.

Ribbon licked her ear to try and calm her, Adrian stepped out of the room, lowered himself into an attack stance and growled fiercely.

Spero clenched her eyes. Slowly, a feeling of a glowing warmth began to pervade throughout her body. Feeling slightly warmed and safe, she opened her eyes. They glowed brightly, the green echoing across the rooms and bathing the creature in front of her.

Growling back, she leapt out from behind Ribbon and lowered herself into an attack stance as well. "What are you?" Her voice was harsh and completely different from how she normally spoke. The glow began to turn red as blood-lust set in.

Adrian's ears flicked back, "I'm a grim, but if I were you, I'd leave this place before you end up like your friend." with that he jumped nimbly over Spero, Thread, and Ribbon and jogged out the door and down the street. "I hope nothing happened to Peri..." Thread said shivering, "Are you okay?" Ribbon asked Spero.

Spero fell limp, the light dying instantly as her eyes closed.

"S-s-spero?" Peri had recovered from her fall. Her head was pounding and the room was dark. "Spero?" She rose her voice, and then started screaming. "SPERO!!"
